The inside dimensions of the duct, as well as the thickness of the duct board are entered into the computer. This directs the rollers to the appropriate location. The board is then fed between the powered rollers and the staple flap is secured with heat seal tape for perfect duct every time!
Board
thickness (1" to 2") may be changed without re-entering the duct
dimensions, eliminating manual calculations. The position of the rollers is
displayed on the PLC screen for ease of data entry. The activation of the power roller feed, the temperature of the
iron, and the cutting of the tape are also controlled by the PLC. The heat tape is bonded to the duct board by
the heated iron and secured with a motor-driven paddle wheel. The tape is cut to proper length by an air
driven cut-off blade. Completed duct is
fabricated at 1 foot per second!
The
frame is constructed of powder-coated square steel tubing to enhance
durability. All covers and guards are
stainless steel. All operations and
controls are solid state.
